There is 1fairy for each darkling that counters it the best. But sometimes there are more types of darklings then fairies you can employ. It becomes a puzzle by maximizing as less fairies you can employ to get rit of the darklings for a higher score. It is real time movement so when you run out of power to summon fairies they get closer anyway. So you have to continue matching while using the fairies which sometimes can be intense.At every end of an island there is a boss battle where you have to use everything that you got. You cna even get help from max 4items\/consumables to help you get through a battle. Every puzzle you can change the fairies loadout and items\/consumables.The Match 3 system is fine as you would expect a match 3 system to work as.Pros- Good matching 3 system- Theme is cute and dark- Intense game moments- Theme fooling you about its difficulty- Change loadouts- Colourful-Easy pick up and playCons- Too intense to really keep track whats happening- Looks less interesting then it really isHaving played for 17,1hours and getting all 70 achievements i'm glad to have finished it and definitely worth my time.If you like match 3 but want something abit more intense then this is the game i can recommend.. Very similar to bejewel, but more fast pace and unique twists.Very fun achievements as well as getting all three stars. I like this game a lot more than gems of war and puzzle quest. Gems of war was fun and I enjoyed it.Puzzle quest was gloomy, boring, and slow to get into the game. This is more of a relaxing, fast pace, quick thinking, match 3, w lil unique difficulties fun.. Game is meh. It is a little bit unique, match 3 game that requires you to be pretty quick, but that's about it, takes about a day to complete. More RNG that strategy, you can get destroyed one round and 2 minutes later win no problem. You can purchase some upgrades, but they are really too little too late.Zero replayability, barely playability. What a wonderful and beautifully designed game!!! I think it actually made me more confident in this game genre. Everything is adorable and all those wonderful, wonderful cuties...and the story was well enjoyed as well. It made me want to go after every challenge! Sadly, I couldn't achieve the 8+ gem one...but no fear! Everything else was truly amazing. This game was for a very generous price and I got plenty of fun out of it and I graciously thank for everything the developers did. Oh and the soundtrack\/sounds were a bliss as well. Cute fast-paced match-3 with a lot of content at a very small price. You gotta keep an eye on the grid as well as on the enemy progression, and collect mana to send fairies fight the evil. The enemies have different skills to disturb your plans, and the playgrounds also have some particularities to spice things up. There also are bosses ! All in all, the game is great, especially if you like match-3. It has an excellent value for the price asked, there are a lot of achievements, steam trading cards and steam cloud. Nothing wrong here, nothing to dislike :)
